PRR 9787, EF-15A, 1965
Title:  PRR 9787, EF-15A, 1965
Description:  Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Prominent here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9787 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #9787 is an EF-15A built by GM-EMD in February of 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They're pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight that's about to pass under the 12th Street Footbridge. Two tracks to the left, a GM-EMD switcher moves some freight cars; two tracks to the right, the eastbound coal train pulled by engine #9530 is still stopped short of the 7th Street Bridge!
