Album Info:Here are nine photos of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives ~ steam, electric, and diesel-electric. I purchased all of them in a single eBay auction conducted by Mr. Thomas K. Kreamer on 7 June 2025. The photographer's name, the locomotive road number(s), the date, and the location are cited when available.

Description:  Kreamer. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, c. 1945. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4338, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during December of 1922, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in July of 1943, and retired in August of 1952 after 30 years of faithful service. The "Big Man 0n Campus" has been reduced to "yard goat." (#1 of 9)

Description:  Kreamer. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near South Amboy, New Jersey, c. 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #646, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata in March of 1918 and retired in November of 1957 after 39 years of service. It will soon arrive at the South Amboy Station with a four-car passenger train, where it'll be uncoupled and replaced by a GG-1 that will then pull the train into New York City. (#2 of 9)

Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5771 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are BP-20's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5771 was constructed in June of 1948 and retired in May of 1965 after just 17 years of revenue service. Description:  Kreamer. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by R. von dem Hagen that was taken from the 24th Street Bridge in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. Prominent at the left are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7175, #2413, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #7175 is an EFS-17M built by GM-EMD in October of 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #2413 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in October of 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. In this context, they're passing the now-shuttered SLOPE Tower with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Two tracks over, a TrucTrain just down "The Mountain" winds its way through the interlocking into Altoona and points East. The smokestack at the right marks the location of the PRR's 12th Street Car Shops. Brush Mountain dominates the distance. (#5 of 9)

Description:  Kreamer. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by R. von dem Hagen that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1964. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8650 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. $8650 is an AS-18M built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1957 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. In this context, they're rounding the Curve with a fully-loaded mineral train on its way down the Allegheny Mountains to the Eastbound Receiving Yard in Altoona. The young man exclaims, "I love the smell of brake shoe smoke in the morning!" (#6 of 9)

Shown here (F to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4264 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #4264 was constructed as number "5764" in November of 1952 and renumbered "4264" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. In this context, they're departing the Station with an eight-car passenger train bound for Pittsburgh and points East. (#8 of 9)
