Title:
PRR 4270, I-1SA, 1956
Description:
Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, on 22 September 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4270, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during July of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in March of 1942, and retired in September of 1959 after 36 years of faithful service. Looks to me like it's on "hump" duty in its old age. ("Erail888" B; #1 of 2)
