The Switch That Ended The "Grand Tour"  Contributor's Pick!
This is the switch off the old Mileaukee Road that saved Chicago and North Western crews from taking the "grand tour of Faribault", which took them on a roundabout loop about town to serve industries along the old Chicago Great Western. After this switch was in, all they had to do was come down from the north on the old Milwaukee Road, get off here, and get to work. Now Progressive Rail traverses this same switch during its runs on tjhe old Great Western.
