Title:
PRR 6827, M-1, 1955
Description:
Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken near Marysville, Pennsylvania, in December of 1955. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6827, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1926 and retired in April of 1956 after 30 years of faithful service. In this context, it's just traversed the Middle Division from Altoona with a fully-loaded mineral train, and is about to cross the Rockville Bridge on its way to Harrisburg. ("LouisFols"; #14 of 15)
